To combat the formidable Max Gawn of Melbourne, Richmond has welcomed back Jacob Hopper from injury and recalled ruckman Sam Naismith. Former skipper Dylan Grimes and young midfielder Sam Banks join them in the starting lineup.

Melbourne has dropped veteran forward Ben Brown in favor of livewire Kozzy Pickett, who returns from suspension. Mid/forward Bailey Laurie and key defender Daniel Turner are also included in the squad.
Injury Concerns for Both Teams
Richmond's Jayden Short is ruled out due to a calf injury, while Kane McAuliffe, Tyler Sonsie, and Jacob Koschitzke have been omitted from the team.
