Port Adelaide Football Club has appointed Janelle Cuthbertson as its new AFLW captain, replacing the retired Erin Phillips. Cuthbertson, 33, joined Port Adelaide last season after a successful AFLW career with Fremantle. In her first year with the Power, she served as co-vice captain alongside Phillips.

Leadership Legacy

Cuthbertson will now lead the team as captain, changing her jumper number from 25 to the traditional captain's number of one. She expressed gratitude for the honor and the support of her teammates and family.

Leadership Group

Joining Cuthbertson in the club's leadership group are Justine Mules-Robinson as vice-captain, Ange Foley, and inclusion Ash Saint. Cuthbertson noted the diverse strengths of the leadership team and her excitement about working with them to enhance the team's performance.

New Captains in Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney

Port Adelaide is not the only AFLW club making changes to its leadership. Both Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney are also set to appoint new captains after Chelsea Randall and Alicia Eva stepped down at the end of the previous season.
