Geelong Duo Punished After Dangerous Bumps
Geelong, Victoria - Geelong's Mark Blicavs and Jhye Clark have both been handed one-match bans for high bumps on Greater Western Sydney's Lachie Whitfield during their round 11 clash.
Incidents Deemed Careless and High Impact
Both incidents involved Whitfield being hit high during the Giants' victory at GMHBA Stadium. Clark and Blicavs' actions were classified as careless, medium impact, and high contact, warranting a one-match suspension each.
Whitfield Suffers Swollen Cheek
Although Whitfield managed to complete the match, he was observed with a swollen right cheek following the game. The suspensions will result in Blicavs and Clark missing the Cats' upcoming match against Richmond.
Additional Disciplinary Actions
Vlastuin Fined for Striking
In a separate incident, Richmond defender Nick Vlastuin has been fined for striking Essendon's Matt Guelfi during the Dreamtime at the 'G game.
Fines for Other Players
Fines were also handed down to Gold Coast's Jack Lukosius and Carlton's Nic Newman for striking, while GWS's James Peatling received a fine for rough conduct on Geelong's Tom Atkins.
