Andrew Phillips Headlines Tasmanian Team
Former Essendon, Carlton, and Greater Western Sydney ruckman Andrew Phillips will make his debut for Tasmania against Queensland in the men's representative match at Gold Coast's Bond University on Saturday. Phillips retired from the AFL in 2023 after playing 82 games across three clubs.
Queensland Features Ex-Brisbane Players
Queensland's squad will boast a lineup of former Brisbane Lions players, including Jono Freeman, Matt Hammelmann, Liam Dawson, and Aiden Fyfe, all of whom graduated from the club's academy. Freeman famously kicked four goals in a memorable upset victory over Collingwood at the MCG in 2014.
Tasmanian Team with Former AFL and AFLW Representatives
Tasmania's team will be led by former Hawthorn midfielder Kieran Lovell and ex-Adelaide ruckman Sam Siggins. The squad also includes Aaron Cornelius as coach and Chloe Haines, Libby Haines, Perri King, who all have AFLW experience with North Melbourne.
Women's Representative Match Equally Star-Studded
The women's representative match will feature an equally impressive cast of former AFLW players. The home team, coached by Jamie Stanton, boasts Arianna Clarke, Emma Pittman, Tahlia Meyer, and Kaylee Kimber, all with top-level experience.
Livestream Available on Saturday
Both the men's and women's matches will be livestreamed on AFL Queensland's official YouTube channel on Saturday, June 22nd. The women's match will commence at 11am, followed by the men's match at 1:15pm.
