Travis Boak Earns Dual-Position Eligibility in AFL Fantasy

New Dual-Position Players Announced

Champion Data has confirmed the second set of dual-position players (DPP) for AFL Fantasy, providing coaches with enhanced flexibility in their lineups. To qualify for the position addition, players must have played 35% of their time in the new position and completed half of their team's matches.

Travis Boak: A Top Forward Option

Port Adelaide's Travis Boak has emerged as a top forward target following his impressive performance in Round 11, scoring 115 Fantasy points with 25 disposals and 12 marks. Despite his previous status as a MID-only player, Boak's 38% time as a forward over nine matches has earned him DPP status as a MID/FWD.

With his current price under $700k in Classic and the Round 13 bye approaching, Boak is a highly desirable acquisition for Fantasy coaches. Fantasy Draft leagues will also be eager to secure his services, as his ownership is only 37% across all leagues and his ADP has significantly increased due to his newfound versatility.

Other Players Gaining DPP Status

In addition to Boak, several other players have also been added to the DPP list:

  • Ben Ainsworth (Gold Coast): MID/FWD
  • Ed Richards (Western Bulldogs): DEF/MID
  • Jase Burgoyne (Port Adelaide): DEF/MID
  • Callum Ah Chee (Brisbane): MID/FWD
  • Jack Sinclair (St Kilda): DEF/MID
  • Jack Williams (West Coast): RUCK/FWD
  • Hugo Ralphsmith (Richmond): DEF/MID

Strategic Considerations

Dual-position players provide coaches with greater lineup flexibility, allowing them to fill multiple positions with a single player. It is advisable to monitor players who may gain DPP eligibility in the lead-up to the Fantasy finals, when the final round of DPP additions will be made.
